Review Guidelines
We want Headliner to be a useful place for festival-goers to share honest experiences and help other people decide what might be right for them. You don't have to have had a perfect weekend, honest criticism is welcome. In a nutshell we ask you to: be honest, be specific, be constructive, be kind, keep it relevant and keep it yours!
Be honest
Reviews should reflect your genuine experience of the festival you attended. Please don't post reviews on behalf of someone else, pretend to have attended a festival you haven't, or deliberately misrepresent your experience.
Be specific
Tell people what your experience was actually like. The more detail, the more useful your review will be.
You might talk about:
- The music and line-up
- Food and drink
- Facilities, toilets, showers and camping
- Art, production and things to do
- The atmosphere and crowd
- The site, layout and getting around
- Your favourite moments or unexpected discoveries
- Anything that didn't work well or could be improved
You don't need to cover everything, just share what stood out to you.
Be constructive
It's completely fine to say you didn't enjoy something. Try to explain why rather than simply saying something was rubbish, terrible or a scam.
For example:
"The toilets near the main stage became pretty unpleasant by Saturday evening, and there weren't enough being cleaned or restocked."
is more useful than:
"The toilets were disgusting."
Be kind
Remember that there are real people behind festivals, from organisers and artists to bar staff, volunteers and other festival-goers.
Please don't use reviews to:
- Personally attack, threaten or abuse someone
- Make discriminatory or hateful comments
- Harass another festival-goer
- Target someone because of their race, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or other personal characteristics
- Share someone's private or personal information
Criticise the experience, not the people.
Keep it relevant
Reviews should be about your experience of the festival.
Please don't use reviews for advertising, spam, promoting unrelated businesses or settling personal disputes.
Keep it yours
Only include information you're comfortable sharing publicly. Please don't include phone numbers, addresses, social media handles or other personal information belonging to you or anyone else.
A note on moderation
Headliner may remove reviews or content that break these guidelines. We may also remove content where we can't reasonably establish that it relates to a genuine festival experience.
We won't remove a review simply because it's negative. Different people can have very different experiences of the same festival, and that's part of what makes reviews useful.
Our aim is to create a space where people can be honest about what they loved, what they didn't, and everything in between, while keeping it useful and respectful for everyone.
