About

Across a single September weekend, Southampton's city centre turns into an open stage, with performances spilling out of cafes, shop fronts, churches, squares and pop-up spaces you might otherwise walk straight past. Because it is free and unticketed, the atmosphere is relaxed and wandering: you follow the sound of a folk trio into a courtyard, catch a jazz set over coffee, then drift towards a reggae or soul act a few streets away. The programming spans folk, jazz, blues, rock, indie, soul, world, reggae and classical, giving local and emerging musicians a platform alongside more established names. Children are welcome throughout and the event keeps a strong community and environmental focus. It suits people who enjoy discovering unfamiliar artists at close quarters and who prefer exploring a city on foot to committing to a fixed lineup.
